What exactly is a luxury travel advisor? Advisors like myself are travel planning experts. We design entire itineraries from scratch, or simply book that one hotel you've been eyeing - whatever travel planning assistance you need. Plus, we have the key relationships to score you VIP amenities and other sweet perks at luxury hotels, resorts, cruises and more around the globe.

What can a travel advisor book? It varies by advisor. Some of us focus only on booking hotel stays, while others are full-service operations handling every aspect like flights, activities, transportation and more. At Rewarding Travel, in addition to hotels we book villas, cruises, yacht charters, tours - you name it.

One thing to note: advisors don't do Airbnb bookings.

Do we charge fees? For booking hotels through our travel partner network, nope, no fees! But for more complex trips like a multi-stop honeymoon or an intricately planned itinerary with all the extras like restaurant reservations, drivers and tour guides, there may be a planning fee. Airfare bookings also typically involve a fee. Don't worry though, your advisor will always give you the full pricing details upfront before you book.

As for how the whole process works? First, your advisor will pick your brain to really understand your vibe, travel preferences, what kind of experiences you're into, and your budget. From there, we'll work together to craft and book out your perfect itinerary, going back and forth either over the phone or by email - whatever communication style you prefer.

How can I maximize my experience with my advisor?

I recommend sharing your general preferences and travel vibe, along with examples of hotels or experiences that you have enjoyed in the past (plus any that you disliked!).

Budget is also a key factor; I encourage you to be realistic and transparent about your budget up front, which will make for a smoother experience overall. Money conversations might feel intimidating, but you can rest assured that as your advisor, I keep your intel confidential and that a transparent budget conversation helps us to better customise your trip.

You should also share details of who you're traveling with (including names, so I can help personalise experiences, note mobility requirements, or cater to dietary requirements) as well their respective preferences.
